FC LONDON CLAIMS UMBRO CUP OVER K-W UNITED FC

In their final game of the 2013 PDL regular season, FC LONDON claimed the inaugural UMBRO Cup title over division rivals K-W United FC.

The UMBRO Cup consists of a home-and-home contest with games played on June 12th in Waterloo, and July 19th in London. The winner is decided by aggregate goals over the two matches, with a penalty kick tie-breaker at the end of the second game if required.

In the first leg, played back in June, FC LONDON pulled out a 2:1 victory on the home-turf of KW-United FC. FC LONDON was awarded the Cup at the end of a 2:2 draw Friday night at Cove Rd.

Despite a rain delay with lightning and a downpour about five minutes into the first half, the crowd showed its resolve was out in force to support the home team.

Both of FC LONDON's goals were scored by returning FC LONDON alum, Jovan Ivanovich. Having played centre-back for the team in years past, Ivanovich appeared to be embracing his new offensive role in this standout performance.

Special thanks to Umbro Canada for their sponsorship of this new Cup competition.
