FC London off to Thunder Bay for conference playoff

FC London off to Thunder Bay for conference playoff!

FC London fans won’t be able to watch their team from the bleachers of Cove Road Stadium for the PDL Central Conference playoff tournament this weekend.
On Monday (July 22) it was announced that after closing out the regular season on Friday (July 19) with a 10-2-2 record and their first ever Great Lakes Division title, FC London will travel to Thunder Bay for the Central Conference playoff tournament this weekend (July 27-28).
“It’s disappointing for the fans that we will not be hosting in the first round of playoffs,” said Ian Campbell, president of FC London in a post on the team’s Facebook page about the league’s decision to hold the Central Conference Championship in Thunder Bay. “However, we avoid a wildcard game. We are only four games away from repeating last year’s success, so we’re in for some exciting football.”
London will be joined in the Lakehead by hosts Thunder Bay Chill, the Real Colorado Foxes, and the winner of a wildcard game Tuesday (July 23) between the Michigan Bucks and Chicago Fire. The Fire managed to squeak into playoff contention on tie-breaker rules, edging out K-W United FC for the third place based on total wins in league play. London Community News.
